What happens if I overstay by a few days?

Any overstay can result in being declared undesirable and banned from returning for 1–5 years. Fines do not replace the ban risk — leave on time or have proof of a pending application.

Can I work on a visitor's visa extension?

No. A visitor's visa never allows employment.
